……what is good for the SHS students is equally good for the MP…

Could i be dreaming or i am still watching Citii TV. Did i hear both the Majority Leader and the head Minority caucus seem to confirm to the possible establishment of a new state of the art chamber for Ghana’s House of Representatives? I think i should be dreaming.

How on earth could Parliamentary Service Board in the first place even think of growing such idea talk less of nurturing it into fruition in the fate of such unpardonable economic hardship we are experiencing in this country. What even hinders Ghana’s House of Representatives from learning from experienced economies such as the United Kingdom’s Parliament whom with not less than six hundred and fifty{650} MPs have maintained a smaller chamber since time immemorial. What will two hundred and seventy five {275} MPs be needing a larger space for?

The leadership of N.O.D Foundation strongly believes that the fiscal time is not ripe to undertake such astronomical cost inclined project especially at a time when constituents of most of these same MPs lack basic economic and infrastructural development and can barely feed. We strongly think that this is misplaced priority. Parliament should rather think of how to engage the enforcement agencies like the security operatives especially the police service to make our laws work rather than engaging in the tales of which MP sits closer to the air condition or the finest chair.

Some MPs have tremendously excelled and is not in doubt. Our Foundation equally monitored some of the MPs resist this consideration and therefore, we however wish to let PSB know that we as Ghanaians will resist every attempt to build a totally new chamber in the fate of such economic hardship. More importantly we admonish the house to upgrade the level of debate by making it more pragmatic oriented rather than it verbose nature. Meanwhile, if they still insist for their comfort they still want to go ahead with this outrageous cost inclined edifice, then we advice them to run a double track system.

“AFTER ALL, WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE SHS STUDENT IS EQUALLY GOOD FOR THE MP.
