CID boss saluted over promotion.

The Association of Women in the Media (ASWIM) has welcomed the promotion of the Director-General of Criminal Investigations Department, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah from a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) to the rank of Commissioner of Police (COP).

ASWIM, in a statement, said: “This feat has been achieved through the relentless pursuit of knowledge, courage and tenacity in ensuring that justice is brought to the doorstep of the afflicted as well as ensuring that deviants in our society are put through interventions for their reformation.”

ASWIM said it is convinced that Addo-Danquah’s elevation has placed her in a position which would enable a female to impact strongly decisions for crime prevention and offer solutions to put the safety of all Ghanaians, particularly those that affect women and children at the core of policing in the country.

The association said it is aware that the position comes with new challenges but trusts Addo-Danquah’s track record and is confident that she would continue to surge forward to be an inspiration to women not only in the police service but in the larger society.

ASWIM called for the provision of more opportunities for women in education and employment to accelerate Ghana’s socio-economic growth and congratulated DCOP Addo-Danquah and wished her well.
