Asante Kotoko pulls a win over Wafa.

Match report : Asante Kotoko  pip WAFA as Amos Frimpong misses penalty .

Kumasi Asante Kotoko managed a narrow win over West African Football Academy yesterday at the Kumasi Babayara Stadium as they are still preparing for the Caf Confederation cup which is set to commence on 28th of November, barely a week and few days to go. Coach CK AKunnor made only two changes from the team which managed a draw against Medeama during the midweek friendly at the Essipong Stadium.

Goalkeeper Felix Annan returned to post ahead of Muntari Tagoe whilst Naby Keita was preferred over Frederick Boateng who started against Medeama, defender Agyemang Badu who got injured against Medeama returned to action paring Ishmael Abdul  Ganiu  at center back whilst Abass Mohammed was maintained at left back and captain Amos Frimpong was at the right back.
In midfield saw Prince Acquah,Umar Bashiru , Richard Senanu,Emmanuel Gyamfi with Obed Owusu completing the starting 11 for Asante Kotoko.

WAFA held Kotoko until forward Naby Keita broke the deadlock with a brilliant header in the first half for Asante Kotoko. Fans at the Babayara Stadium thought it was going to be goals galore but WAFA kept their composure and put the Porcupine Warriors at bay.
It was unusual seeing Asante kotoko dominate play at the expense of WAFA who are known to be the masters of possessive football in Ghana football. Kotoko created a lot of chances but couldn’t convert them and captain Amos Frimpong had an opportunity from the spot after Emmanuel Gyamfi was broght down but he missed it.

After the stipulated 90 minutes with 3 minutes additional time Kotoko held on to the 1:0 win
WAFA coach Patrick Ligwig commended Asante Kotoko with their good display and urged them to do well in their Africa campaign whilst Kotoko coach CK Akunnor still stressed on squandering  of chances which he is looking forward to work on before the Africa campaign kick starts
