The management of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has stated that the imminent relocation of the Karpower Badge from Tema to Sekondi in the Western region will not affect power supply.
Karpowership is planning to relocate their 470 megawatts power ship from Tema to Sekondi.
Karpowership has been supplying power to the national grid since it began operations in 2015.
A statement from GRIDCo said: “There is adequate generating capacity to meet power demand during the period that the Barge will be temporarily disconnected from the national grid”.
GRIDCo said it will keep stakeholders updated on the power supply situation as and when it is necessary.
